About me!
 
 
My name is Dr Anne Griffin.  I am a qualified, registered dietitian.  I graduated with an Honours (BSc) Degree from Trinity College, Dublin in Human Nutrition in 1998.  I went on to complete my doctorate (PhD) in the field of childhood nutrition in 2002. I then spent over 10 years working as a Senior Community Dietitian with the Health Service Executive (HSE).
 
Working in the community setting allowed me to develop a range of skills, particularly in the area of promoting healthy eating and active living.  I have had experience in:
  • planning and delivering dietetic clinics to support individuals and families to manage their dietary related issues;
  • training and educating other health and social care workers to support their knowledge of nutrition related issues within their role;
  • providing nutrition education to the public and in the workplace;
  • planning, implementing and supporting programmes to promote health and prevent nutrition related diseases in a range of community settings such as schools, preschools and local communities.
 
I am an active member of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute, which is the professional body for dietitians in Ireland. I currently serve as a member on the Senior Management Team.  I also led the Weight Management Interest Group, a special interest group of the INDI, from 2013-2015 where I co-authored the position paper 'Optimal Approaches to Adult Weight Management Services in Ireland'.

I am also a member of Irish Food Allergy Network and a gold member of the Sensory Integration Network (UK & Ireland).

I am registered with CORU, the state agency regulating health and social care professionals.
 
I recently took the decision to set up my own consultancy business so that I can balance work with my family of four young children, aged 4 to 10 years old.  I am based in Ennis, Co. Clare.
